Smart No-Follow-Up
complete
Anshuman Shrivastav
Currently, CloseBot automatically follows up with leads when they are inside an Objective node. While this works well in many cases, there are real-world situations where follow-ups should pause or stop based on context.
Common Scenarios
The lead says “I’ll get back to you” or needs time to respond.
The customer visits the workshop as a walk-in without completing the booking flow
In these cases, the objective remains incomplete, so the bot continues following up even though it’s no longer appropriate.
Proposed Feature
Introduce Smart No-Follow-Up, similar to Smart Follow-Up, which intelligently pauses, delays, or cancels follow-ups based on lead behavior or external signals.
Example Logic
Pause follow-ups when a lead indicates they’ll respond later.
Stop follow-ups if the lead is marked as visited, serviced, or converted.
This would make CloseBot more context-aware, reduce unnecessary messages, and better reflect real-world business workflows—especially for offline or walk-in driven businesses.

All of this is now done with our follow-up update! https://docs.closebot.com/en/articles/11529498-follow-ups

Optional follow-ups for Statements.

I use statements a lot, for example sending a link. Or making a pitch. Would be great to have the option to send follow-ups after statements too (e.g. "have you had the chance to check the link?" and similar)

Follow-Up Job Flow Action
JAMES LYONS
a followup job flow action to have the agent respond after set parameters. currently it seems follow-up is set at the job flow settings level. Which means if you set follow up it applies to all objective and schedule actions. it would be great to have the granular control. Great work Closebot team with V2 onward and upward!

Follow-Up from a conversation node
Andrew Vernon
The smart based follow-up are fantastic but I am finding limitations with them only being active on an objective or booking node.
Example: We have a DBR client as the AI is reaching out to gain their interest. They go through the full agent flow and at the end we ask them if we can keep in touch because they have said they are interested but nows not the right time and they say things like 'can you get back to me in a couple of months'. To let the AI do its thing and have infinite follow-up it really then needs to land in a conversation node.
Could it be possible to have follow-up working from a conversation node?

Bryce DeCora will smart follow-ups work in tandem with this?

We are looking at the best way to manage follow-up on/off state going forward. We have two primary ideas, but need more time to collect feedback and monitor usage before we decide which path to take.
